Outside Street

Boston Reemerges in Spring, 2021

After months spent indoors, behind masks, and in relative isolation, people were anxious to get back outside this Spring. As the weather began to warm-up in April and May, people took to the streets and sidewalks to enjoy being outside and around other people.

Some ventured with caution, still wearing masks and maintaining their distance. As vaccinations increased, and guidelines relaxed, it started to feel almost normal again. The Boston Common and Charles River areas attracted the largest numbers. People jogged, rode their bicycles, walked their dogs, or just relaxed in the sunshine.
