The third concert featured the rock group Plush, during the middle of a national tour. The band is fronted by lead vocalist/songwriter/guitarist Moriah Formica, whose powerful vocals brought her to compete on “The Voice” when she was just 16 years old. The group also features lead guitarist Bella Perron, bassist Ashley Suppa, and drummer Faith Powell.
There were challenges in photographing Plush when they appeared at The Vault in New Bedford, MA. Like many national groups, they limited a handful of photographers to taking photos during the first three songs of their performance. The standing-room only crowd at the venue restricted movement considerably. To get unobstructed views of the band required holding the camera above my head, using the LED screen to compose shots. The band’s high energy performance, combined with dramatic stage lighting more than compensated for the challenges.
