Wind Industry Comes to New Bedford

The push to develop alternative energy sources has come to New Bedford, MA. Vineyard Wind, an offshore wind development company, is using New Bedford as a base for building the “first commercial-scale” offshore wind project in the country. Annual Moby Dick Marathon Reading

The annual Moby Dick Marathon returned to the New Bedford Whaling Museum, following a two-year “virtual” hiatus. The marathon is an annual celebration marking Herman Melville’s 1841 departure from the Port of New Bedford aboard the whaleship Acushnet. The weekend event features a 25-hour reading by scholars, students, fishermen and community leaders.
